Dr Jill Briska DC

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences before going on to graduate with a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from the National University of Health Sciences. I am a Biocybernetic Practitioner and trained personally with the inventor of CyberScan (Cybernetic Biofeedback). Other trainings I have completed include Acupuncture, Addictionology, Auriculotherapy, Applied Kinesiology, Reiki and Visceral Adjusting.

I utilize the Triad of Quantum Healing to assess the structural, chemical and emotional factors of the whole person for customized health and wellness. While I am a trained chiropractor and have worked for many years focusing on musculoskeletal issues, I have now stepped into more advanced healing methodologies and focus on chronic illnesses/mystery illnesses, addictions, and cancer treatment support. These treatments apply quick and easy solutions for optimum health and wellness. A huge plus is that many of these healing modalities are implemented without an office visit so I can work with anyone across the US.

My book “The Great Panacea: How to Think, Feel, Vibrate and Create Ultimate Health” is a layman’s guide how to simply and easily utilize your own energetic healing abilities to heal yourself structurally chemically and emotionally.

I am passionate about Energy Medicine and see it as the missing piece in healthcare today. I believe balancing the body’s vibrational frequencies will allow balance in our health chemically, structurally and emotionally. I believe wholeheartedly that we each have the ability to heal ourselves and make it my mission to teach people how to use their own innate abilities to create optimal health. I love to learn and create and I never stop searching for new therapies and diagnostic tools that can possibly help someone on their path of healing.

What is ArthroStim?
The Chiropractic adjustment produces precise movements which stimulate neural receptors in an area of the body. This in turn produces nerve impulses which relay crucial information to the brain. Once the brain evaluates the changes prompted by the adjustment, it brings about necessary healing changes. Chiropractic adjustments help stimulate the body to heal itself.

Traditionally, chiropractors have used single high-energy thrusting and pulling movements to adjust areas of the body. This is great but sometimes it’s not! For example:

  • Some acute patients are initially too sensitive to tolerate standard adjustments.
  • Some very young or elderly patients experience adverse reactions when they are forcefully adjusted.
  • Some patients are difficult to adjust especially larger men and women.
  • Some patients are not suited to forceful adjusting methods due to their sensitive physical or psychological make up.
  • Some patients dislike or even fear the popping noises or being “cracked“.

Luckily a manual adjustment is not the only way to bring about these healing changes. The ArthroStim instrument is a safe, effective and comfortable option to a manual adjustment and is perfect for those issues listed above.

Even more reason to love ArthroStim:

  • Soft tissues including discs can be addressed
  • Patient treatments can be done in while standing, sitting or lying down.
  • Next day soreness after an adjustment is a thing of the past

ArthroStim can be used by itself, or in combination with other adjusting methods, depending on the approach that is best for your specific case and the patient’s comfort level. Rest assured YOU will always have the final say!

My Health Journey

Health issues arise when the body is not working to its fullest potential. What causes the body to not work at its fullest potential you might ask. Years ago I was introduced to something called the “Triad of Health“. There are three sides (hence triad): structural, chemical & emotional.

All three sides are equally important and need to be in balance for total health. As a chiropractor I naturally loved the structural side- biomechanics, subluxations and adjusting- Woohoo! Sure I would tell my patients to take supplements, they should eat better, don’t smoke, workout/do your exercises and don’t stress- all very sound advice. The problem I found is although that helped many, some people would continue to go out of alignment and not get better. Why? I thought I was doing the “Triad of Health”. It took a serious health scare for me to take a closer look at the “Triad of Health” and see where I was coming up short.

Pathway

My own personal health journey could be a small novel so I will spare you most of it and give you the short version. Let me first say, I am in my 50’s to give you a timeframe for reference. When I was 25 I went projectile out a car window and landed on the road. (Wear your seatbelts folks!) Despite many injuries, some metal put in to hold me together and several difficult months of recovery, I survived. Thankfully, I was young so I recovered pretty quickly from my injuries but a few years later it all started to change. My back was getting worse and worse. Most of my 30s was spent struggling with back pain. I had to sell my first practice because my lower back was so bad I would be bedridden and couldn’t work for a month at a time.

The good news is I was able to avoid surgery and I have been pain-free for a decade now! All was going well and my back was doing great, but then I hit 46. Let me tell you, this health crisis made back pain seem like a cakewalk. In a very short time, I went from being a healthy person with occasional illness to a sick person with really no health ever- I was just sick! I started being allergic to everything I ate, smelled, touched. Eventually I was down to only five foods. The upper half of my face especially around my eyes was swollen constantly to the point I no longer recognized myself when I looked in the mirror. I looked like I had been to a back alley Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. If that wasn’t bad enough, my hair broke off. I’m talking chunks of hair missing. I had to start wearing a topper then at one point, a full on wig! Meanwhile, I’m exhausted with a regular body temperature of 95.5 and blood pressure of 80/58. I honestly felt at any moment I could drop dead. Did I mention I had very young, very energetic twins? What I wanted to do is go hide in a room alone, with no mirrors, no lights and just go to sleep-but that was not an option! So, I’d throw on my wig or a hat and sunglasses and away we would go. I didn’t know what was going on-I ate healthy, took LOTS of supplements, got my yearly checkups, took my thyroid medication as prescribed, exercised 3x a week (until I was too weak to do it anymore) got adjusted, treated myself to massages here and there and I didn’t have any bad habits to speak of other than being a coffee drinker. So what was going on?

I of course went to my doctor I told her flat out – “I’m sick- help me!” She did some basic blood work and called me in. At the visit she told me, in not so many words, I was old and hormonal (get used to it) and proceeded to try to put me on an antidepressant and a statin drug for my suddenly 203 cholesterol that had never been over 177 my entire life. That’s it. Other than that she said I was fine. What?! I wasn’t “fine”! Alright, I may be old and peri menopausal but I am NOT depressed- I’m sick and there is a big difference! Speaking of being old- I am old enough to be afraid of marks being made on my permanent record, so I refrained from telling her what she could do with those antidepressants, statins and the rest of her advice. I hightailed it out of there and had a good cry in the car. Then it hit me- I’m never going back to her, I am going to figure this out on my own and thus began my journey. I was determined to get better and I would do anything- if it involved a chicken foot- I would do it! The journey was exhausting, heartbreaking, frustrating, and expensive but also exciting, inspiring, eye-opening and life-changing. This journey changed my belief system and my whole philosophy of what it takes to be healthy. I’m thrilled to say, it has a happy ending- well, not an ending, a happy and exciting new beginning!

Framed words

10 Things I Have Learned

1 | The Triad of Health (structural, chemical and emotional) is HUGE but it’s so much more than eating healthy, exercising and stressing less. All good stuff but that’s not the whole story. The emotional side of the triangle gets no respect- but it’s time has come!

2 | It’s all about energy- Albert Einstein knew it. It’s true for everything, including your health.

3 | Anything can cause anything- that’s because a confused immune system is trigger happy.

4 | The placebo effect should not be pooh-poohed! Consider this- a person gets a sugar pill but BELIEVES they got a medication that would help them AND THEY GOT BETTER ANYWAY?! Wow- doesn’t that show you how powerful the mind is?

5 | Do not accept that it just has to be that way because you are a woman or old or autoimmune or you are genetically predisposed or whatever else you are told you need to accept.  Research shows Epigenetics (lifestyle and mental health) is 90% of how healthy you are (or are not).

6 | “Woo Woo” is not a bad thing- and often, it just means science can’t prove why it works yet. Acupuncture used to be “woo woo” (despite being done effectively for thousands of years in China) but now the meridians can be proven scientifically because of technological advancements. Now they do acupuncture at Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and Cancer Treatment Centers of America to name a few. (Believe it or not, when you are sick and desperate enough and have tried everything else- “woo woo” starts to sound quite reasonable- I don’t care who you are.)

7 | Gratitude will get you far. Even when it looks really really bad and couldn’t be worse- there is always something to be grateful for.

8 | Sugar- not a friendly- TO ANYONE. Gluten- it’s the food equivalent of an abusive relationship TO EVERYONE. I’m not happy about it either, but the research is mounting.

9 | You can’t supplement away a poor diet/poor digestion/ poor absorption. Hippocrates knew “all disease begins in the gut” It’s 80% of your immune system!

10 | Question everything-things aren’t always what they seem. Don’t agree with the answer you were given? Don’t feel you are being heard? Think there is something missing? Get a different opinion and find someone who does listen and will look under every rock. I am alive today because I questioned. My doctor missed that I had an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis which when advanced causes swelling of the face- it’s called myxedema. My body could not process the synthetic thyroid medication I had been prescribed. On a daily basis my temperature was 95.5 – 95.4 is hypothermia! If I had not trusted my instincts and just believed that I was “fine” I could’ve ended up in what is called a myxedema coma or worse- dead. I didn’t accept the answers I was given and found the right people to help me- I was finally heard and treated as a whole person. Question everything!
